MEETING MINUTES
Members Present: Chairman JoAnn Doke, Ann Titus and Debbie Scanlon
Members Absent: Cindy Snowdon, Jeanette Colpitt, and John Fitch
Selectman Present: Joan Funk
Chairman Doke called the meeting to order at 6:00pm.
Old Business:
- Review of Minutes – Ann Titus moved to accept the September minutes as amended to reflect a change in the carwash section, 2nd Joan Funk. Motion carried with all in favor.
JoAnn Doke motioned to table the August minutes because they were not available for review, 2nd Deb Scanlon. Motion carried with all in favor.
- Economic Development Committee Survey – JoAnn informed the committee that her and Cindy attended the last EDC meeting and though they are still working on a joint meeting time they have asked for this committee’s help. They would like all the members to pick up the surveys from their prospective businesses. JoAnn added to that “job” by having the committee members take decals with them to see if they can sell them at the same time.
- Meeting Schedule – JoAnn informed the committee that she would like to take a break for the months of November and December. The committee agreed that they do not have any pressing issues to deal with and it would certainly make everyone’s schedules a lot lighter. Deb Scanlon motioned to not have the Downtown and Business Committee meet in November and December to allow members to tend to other business, 2nd Ann Titus. Motion carried with all in favor. The next regulary scheduled meeting is set for January 15, 2008 at 6pm.
- Ribbon Cuttings – JoAnn informed the committee that she cancelled the Pet Pantry re-ribbon cutting because it was raining but did do the House of Pizza one. She will reschedule the Pet Pantry and inform the members of the new date and time. Joan said JoAnn might want to contact Hawkins Safety and North & South to see if they would like a ribbon cutting. JoAnn said she would contact them and would also check with Cathy King as well, because she just opened her home real estate business. Ann then asked if Downtown Coffee would like a ribbon cutting because they are under new ownership and Deb (the owner) responded that she would like to wait and discuss it in January.
Deb Scanlon motioned to adjourn, 2nd JoAnn Doke. Motion passed with all in favor.
Chairman Doke adjourned the meeting at 6:37pm
Respectfully Submitted,
Brandy Sanger
